On 28th March 2017 the new £1 coin will enter circulation in Pembrokeshire. The new £1 coin will be a 12-sided, two colour coin made of two different metals and will have milled edges.
The present £1 coin has been in circulation for over thirty years, and like all high value coins need occasional redesign to keep one step ahead of the counterfeiters.
From the 28th March 2017, both the old and new coins will be in circulate for 6 months after which only the new coins can be used.
