Do you offer a digital printing service?
Yes. We can produce digital printing for you in full colour one or both sides on paper and card up to A3 size (297x420mm) here in Pembrokeshire. You can also have digital printing one side up to A1 size (594x841mm) for posters and have them laminated as well.

What do you print?
We are printers of pretty much anything that involves putting ink on paper, card or plastic. This is done with either traditional litho offset printing technology or digital printing. The finishing department can also fold, score, collate, perforate, drill, laminate, die cut, encapsulate, glue, bind and staple. The most common things you can have printed are -

How long will my printing take?
Most 1 and 2 colour printing jobs will take 4 working days to design the proof artwork and 5 days to print once you pass the final proof artwork. However if you have an urgent printing job, this can usually be speeded up considerably. Please note some printing jobs will take longer.
Most full colour printing jobs will take 7 working days to design the proof artwork and 10 working days to print once you pass the final proof artwork. However it can be considerably faster, especially if digital printing is being used. We print most of our work here ourselves here in Pembrokeshire, unlike many other firms who sub-contract it to printers outside of West Wales.

Can I speak to a designer without committing myself?
Yes. You are more than welcome to speak to one of our in-house Graphic Designers here in Pembrokeshire without committing yourself. Indeed we would encourage you to do so. How else will you be able to gauge if we are the right printers for you. After all you have to be confident that we can deliver a design that you will be 100% happy with.
It is only when the Graphic Designer actually starts working on your printing design that a commitment is required from you.

How much do you charge for artwork?
With the exception of a few niche products nothing, as long as you place a printing order. Our printing prices include all artwork, interior photography, scanning, illustrations, logo creation, proofs, amendments and graphic design work. You will have no hidden extras to pay. We are the only printers in Pembrokeshire to offer such a complete printing and Graphic Design service.

Do you take customer supplied artwork on disk?
Yes, but you must use an appropriate software package e.g. Quark Express or Adobe InDesign. Whilst we accept Adobe Photoshop files it is a Raster based software program which means that text quality suffers. You can also supply Microsoft Publisher files but it is really not designed for commercial printers, only home production on a computer printer. We will almost certainly have to do pre-press work on it.
You should ideally supply your design -
Saved as a PDF
Photos and graphics 300dpi or greater
Text saved to outline ( InDesign ) or curves ( Quark Express )
1 + 2 colour printing saved as spot colour
Full colour printing saved as CMYK
3mm bleed all the way around the outside of the job
Appropriate Margins
And absolutely no RGB Colours
If you have difficulty with this we can do it for you but that means you are no longer supplying your own artwork.

Please note - Digital printing is a lot more forgiving than Litho Offset printing. Many designs saved to disk that would not work on a conventional press will be fine when printed digitally.

Will you give me a proof / sample of my design before it is printed?
Yes. Indeed our Graphic Designers will often insist on it. How else are you to know that the design created for you is what you want. What is more you will often be given a choice of designs to choose from 3 or 4 if a new logo has been designed for you.
You will also be encouraged to let us know of any changes you would like made. Your artwork will even be started again from scratch in the unlikely event that you feel our Graphic Designers have misinterpreted your brief.
You will not have to pay a penny more for your printing now matter how many changes you make to the design.

Will you help me with branding and logo design?
Yes. Our experienced Graphic Designers will be delighted to speak to you about all aspects of your Corporate Identity and will give you sound design advice. This can be before you place a printing order or after.
During the meeting your Graphic Designer will guide you through colours, materials, image and recognition factors. Notes and sketches will be made from which a selection of logos and themes will be designed for you, once an order is placed. How do I get my proof / sample of my design?
Once your Graphic Designer has created your proof artwork it will be -
A - Printed out and posted to you. Please note though that this will be done on proofing paper, on a proofing machine. When it is actually printed, your design will be on the exact material chosen when you had your design consultation and not the proofing material.
Furthermore the colours on it will be very close to the ones it will be printed in, but not exactly the same. The actual final printed colours will be the ones that you chose from the calibrated Pantone colour chart when you placed your printing order. We will apply them on the printing press from calibrated tins of inks.
The reasons for this are that proofing machines use a different colour referencing system and technology from the traditional Litho Offset printing presses. There is no way of avoiding this.
B - Or your proof will be emailed to you. However once again the colours of your design whilst very close to the ones you chose from a calibrated Pantone colour chart, will not be exactly the same.
This is because monitors use light (RGB) to create colours and not the solid ink pigments printers use. Once again there is no way of getting around this. If you print it out, your own printer will distort the colours.
The one exception to all of this is Digital Printing which will have your proof printed out on the actual machine it is going to be printed on. It will also be on the exact material the final job will be produced on. So the colours and paper will be completely accurate.
Please do note that for 99.9% of Customers this small colour variance on the proof will make no difference at all. It will probably not even be noticed. It is only of importance to Photographers and Artists having their work reproduced.
