Builders At Modern Print & Design – But Open As Usual

The builders are hard at work at Chase House, Meyrick St, Pembroke Dock stopping a damp problem in our walls.  This looks as though it is being caused by water getting in at the top of the building. It is then soaking down through it causing damp patches.

However, Modern Print & Design are open as usual throughout building work. So please do not let the scaffolding put you off visiting.

PBS Construction & Design Ltd  are the builders who have been hard at work. This involves replacing the fascia boards on the front, back and side of the building and stopping up any holes that they find. In addition to this they have put a cap over the end of the slates on the pine ends to stop water getting in there as well. It is a really tidy job done in less that ideal weather conditions. So a big well done to the boys doing the work!

Painting Modern Print & Design

To do the repairs it was necessary to put scaffolding on the front, back and side of the building. Once there it was a perfect opportunity to paint those sides of the building to freshen up the look of Modern Print & Design. This was done by Trevor (the owner) himself using a masonry roller on a long pole and a very good quality fade resistant paint – Zinsser All Coat Exterior Matt.

In the past Trevor had used Dulux Weather Shield but found that the dark blue pigment faded after only a few years. However, the Zinsser paint is designed to keep dark colours from fading. Let’s hope it works!
