If you fit these criteria, you're eligible for our free training. Each module is usually two days in length, delivered by a tutor who is practising within the industry, and is worth 10 University credits. We run courses right across Wales according to demand, and have so far delivered in Pembroke Dock, Cwmbran, Caerphilly, Conwy, Caernarfon, Lampeter, Merthyr Tydfil and Cardiff.

Further Course Details:

This two day course will highlight the route to market, from maximising your product to your points of sale. Before you can effectively sell your products to customers, you need to ensure your identity clearly tells your customers about your values and style. As such, you’ll be shown how to create a world class brand with very little money, therefore increasing your appeal to your target market. The course will then walk you through the ins, outs, ups and downs of selling directly to the public, to galleries and shops including major retailers, and online.

Your tutor Sarah James has a wealth of experience to draw upon for the course. Cardigan born & bred, Sarah has been organising large arts festivals for over ten years. She is director of The Contemporary Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey, The Nourish Festival, Bovey Tracey and Made by Hand, Cardiff. A ceramics graduate from Glasgow School of Art, Sarah has had a varied career encompassing making, writing, curating and lecturing on business start-up before focusing on event management in 2003. An obsessive user of social media for business and the ability to see solutions in complex situations whilst keeping a smile on her face has ensured that she has become one of the most respected arts events organisers in the UK designer maker sector.

For: Designer Makers and Artists, with a product to sell who want help and advice on how best to maximize their product and reach their market.
