Pinewood B&B and Holiday Park asked our Pembrokeshire graphic designers to help them redesign and modernise their website. It had been some time since it had first been done and now needed to be brought up to date to reflect Pembrokeshire and the holiday park as it is now.
As with all website design projects that we undertake, the first thing that had to be done was arrange a free, no commitment design briefing with the client to meet with one of our website designers. The purpose of this was find out what the clients would like created for them and what their goals are for their website. From this information we can then advise them on the best ways to achieve it.
The owners wanted their new website to feature large photos filling the whole screen to show off the beautiful holiday park and Pembrokeshire coast. Equally, they wanted something that was a little quirky without being radical.
The owners already had a really nice modern logo which became the base from which the website design was built upon. Our Pembrokeshire website designers then expanded on this design style to create an all encompassing brand that summed up everything the park represents. The logo also provided the roots of the websites colour scheme and stylistic direction – keeping things hand-drawn and fun whilst remaining professional.
In addition to this, it was decided to use a fixed-width/mono-space typeface for the body text that had the feel of a late 20th century typewriter to try and give the website a notice board or newsletter feel with a modern twist. The clients were delighted with the effect this gave.
