Trevor spent Saturday in Cwmaman, near Aberdare in the Cynon Valley, South Wales, the home village of Alun Lewis. Alan was one of the best known of poets of the second world war and very well known in his own lifetime.

Literature Wales had organises the day to celebrate the centenary of Alun Lewis’s birth and had arranged for one the the country’s leading experts on him to explain his life and work. This was broken up with some lovely walks around the places that so influenced his later work.
